About
I ran my own agency for years. The pitch of working for yourself sounds like freedom, but nobody tells you that you end up trading a 9-to-5 with one boss for a 24/7 with multiple bosses. Every client becomes someone you answer to. You find yourself chasing money instead of actually living.
At 40, I hit a pivot point — both physically and mentally. I moved to Malaysia and made a decision: no more chasing. I would only work on projects I genuinely wanted to build, and only work with clients I actually wanted to work with.
Why "IndieForty"
The name came from two things. "Indie" represents independence — building on my own terms. "Forty" marks the chapter where everything changed.
It actually started as a gaming streaming handle when I picked up indie games. But it evolved into something bigger — a philosophy about doing things differently in the second half.
What I'm Doing Now
I build projects across AI, SEO, finance, productivity, and whatever else I can't stop thinking about. Some of them work. Some of them don't. Both are worth talking about.
IndieForty is where I document that journey — the wins, the failures, the experiments, and everything I learn along the way. No fluff, no corporate speak, just honest reflections from someone building independence one project at a time.
If you're thinking about making a similar shift — or you're already in the middle of one — I hope something here helps.
